Summary: Join Meta's dynamic Edge and Network Services team as a Network Engineer focused on automation! We're seeking a skilled, innovative engineer to help us manage and enhance one of the largest networks globally. Your expertise in automation will be critical in integrating detection, triaging, and directed repair processes for networks supporting cutting-edge AI/ML applications. This full-time position offers a unique opportunity to dive deep into global networking. Responsibilities: Drive automation and integration within existing pipelines for alerting, triage, and repairs across IP, Ethernet, and other network types.
Enhance operational efficiency through innovative automation and process improvements.
Collaborate with internal and cross-functional teams to streamline workflows for network deployment and repairs.
Identify and address gaps affecting multiple teams, devising execution plans and leading projects.
Create automated systems to detect, mitigate, and resolve network events swiftly.
Engage with partner teams to understand challenges and provide solutions or lead initiatives to deliver effective systems and tooling.
Support the onboarding and mentoring of new team members to ensure their smooth integration into the team.
Conduct detailed troubleshooting alongside cross-functional teams to resolve system or tooling issues.
Align internal tooling efforts by driving requirements with cross-functional teams.
Facilitate progress by identifying and addressing obstacles that hinder team efficiency.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
Over 10 years of automation experience in networking within large-scale environments.
Strong understanding of Layer 2 & Layer 3 technologies.
Proficiency in Python programming.
Experience with REST APIs.
Familiarity with Linux OS and networking principles.
Hands-on experience with network devices such as routers, switches, and load balancers.
Proven ability to work in a global team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree or graduate-level work in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
Experience in developing or operating distributed systems at scale.
Knowledge of a technology-agnostic approach to engineering.
Familiarity with programming languages such as C, C++, Go, or Rust.
Compensation: $162,000/year to $227,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits. Industry:
