Overview GovCIO is seeking a talented and experienced Solutions Architect / Senior Engineer with an active Secret clearance. In this critical role, you will lead the design, integration, and optimization of secure IT solutions for government systems. This is an on-site position located in Merrifield, VA, requiring your presence five days a week. Key Responsibilities Guide and mentor junior team members, serving as a subject matter expert across various domains. Contribute to the strategic direction of the organization through visionary planning and collaboration with stakeholders. Develop solution architectures that align with Data and Enterprise Architecture standards to ensure compliance and modernization. Lead the creation and documentation of formalized solution methodologies, maintain architecture repositories, and advocate for best practices. Research emerging technologies to recommend innovative and cost-effective solutions across cloud, cybersecurity, DevSecOps, and enterprise platforms. Collaborate with delivery teams, project managers, vendors, and government stakeholders to estimate, plan, and oversee solution implementation and integration. Model business and system processes to produce technical artifacts, including system diagrams, detailed design documents, workflow diagrams, and project plans. Provide ongoing technical guidance during solution implementation, manage risks, and communicate effectively with senior leadership. Evaluate and advise on architectural designs from peers to ensure compliance with best practices. Drive modernization efforts for legacy systems and align technology initiatives with mission objectives, fostering collaboration among development teams, product owners, and government representatives. Qualifications We are looking for candidates with a Bachelor's Degree and over 12 years of experience in large integrated projects. Essential Skills and Experience Proven experience in developing strategic systems architecture. Expertise in system design and development. Experience in network design and system integration. Ability to create requirement artifacts, including data flow diagrams and UML models. A background in software development with the ability to write code, along with knowledge of APIs and SDKs. Technical architecture experience, understanding high-level networking, routers, switches, firewalls, servers, and operating systems. Strong background in web servers, API gateways, service-oriented architectures, and secure federal practices. Significant experience with databases, including both SQL and NoSQL types. Familiarity with cross-domain solution architectures and secure data transfer protocols. Experience working in secure environments, knowledge of FISMA, NIST, or RMF compliance is preferred. Capability to articulate a technology vision and communicate modern solutions effectively. Understanding of REST, Java, and ColdFusion is a plus. Experience in Agile/Scrum methodologies and leading cross-functional teams. Clearance Required:
