Job Overview:
A large, well-established property management company in the Bronx is seeking a highly skilled and experienced
Network Engineer III
to join their IT department. This critical role involves overseeing network infrastructure across a vast residential and commercial portfolio. The ideal candidate will be responsible for optimizing and securing complex networks, managing Cisco-based systems, and ensuring seamless communication across all digital platforms. This is a hands-on role suited for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about technology infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities: Design, configure, and maintain routers, switches, wireless controllers, access points, and firewalls Monitor network performance and troubleshoot problems to minimize downtime Implement and enforce network security policies and procedures Maintain and update network documentation and standards Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams to ensure seamless system integration Lead or mentor junior IT team members Manage VPN access, VoIP systems, and Unified Communications tools (Cisco and Avaya) Ensure timely resolution of service issues in line with SLA commitments Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or 7+ years of related experience in lieu of degree) 5+ years of hands-on network engineering experience Deep experience with network protocols and services: DNS, DHCP, VLANs, ACL, IPsec, and more Strong background in Cisco equipment and systems (routers, switches, wireless, VoIP, UCCX) Familiarity with network monitoring tools like SolarWinds and Wireshark Preferred certifications: Cisco (Voice/Collab/UCCX), CompTIA Network+ or Security+, CWNP Disaster recovery and security architecture experience a plus Strong communication and problem-solving skills
