We are seeking a Talent Data Analyst to support data-driven decision-making across a Talent function by analyzing, transforming, and visualizing workforce and people-related data. This role is responsible for developing dashboards, reports, and actionable insights that inform recruiting, retention, performance, and other talent initiatives. The Analyst will collaborate closely with multiple Talent teams and firm leadership to translate complex data into clear, meaningful insights that improve strategic planning and operational efficiency.
This position is based in Washington, DC.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with Talent teams, including attorney recruiting, career development, legal personnel, professional development, and wellbeing, to support data-related initiatives such as reporting, surveys, and analysis.
Design, develop, and maintain dynamic dashboards and reports to track key metrics related to recruiting, attrition, evaluations, performance, and workforce trends.
Translate complex data into written reports, tables, charts, and visualizations that clearly communicate findings to stakeholders.
Interpret analytical results and provide written commentary and actionable insights to support strategic decision-making.
Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality of all Talent-related data.
Conduct ad hoc analyses and participate in special projects as requested by Talent leadership.
Create and maintain instructional and user documentation to support dashboards, reports, and data tools.
Lead and manage special data-related projects, coordinating cross-departmental communication and resources as needed.
Serve as the primary point of contact for data-related requests within the Talent function.
Partner with workforce systems, IT, and other internal teams to integrate and optimize technology solutions for data analytics and reporting.
Identify opportunities to improve and streamline data reporting processes and lead the implementation of enhancements to increase efficiency. Requirements
Bachelor's degree required; equivalent work experience considered.
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or a related role.
Prior experience in a law firm or professional services environment preferred.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Power BI, including Power BI Desktop, Service, and Mobile.
Proficiency with DAX and Power Query.
Working knowledge of SQL, including joins and window functions; experience using T-SQL for data extraction and analysis.
Experience using Microsoft Power Automate to build workflow automations.
Ability to produce clear, concise business and technical documentation.
Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into effective data visualizations using best practices and design principles.
Experience with data modeling preferred.
Knowledge of Python and additional BI tools is a plus.
Familiarity with Azure data services and Azure Fabric is beneficial.
Experience with HR and legal industry systems such as UKG Pro, UKG People Analytics, Aderant, or Intapp Time is a plus.
Proficiency with Windows operating systems and Microsoft M365 applications.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and client service skills with the ability to work effectively with all levels of personnel.
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment with sensitive information.
Flexible, adaptable, and dependable, with strong problem-solving skills.
Willingness to work additional hours as needed to meet business demands.
The anticipated base salary range for this position is
$82,400 to $90,000 , with final compensation determined based on qualifications, experience, education, location.
