Responsibilities

• Prepare and display fresh meats, ensuring proper cutting, trimming, and packaging according to safety standards.
• Assist customers with selecting products, offering recommendations and upselling additional items to enhance their shopping experience.

• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas, including meat counters, equipment, and storage areas in compliance with food safety regulations.
• Manage inventory levels by rotating stock, restocking displays, and noting product shortages or quality issues.
• Provide excellent customer service by answering questions about products, offering cooking tips, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
• Follow all food handling procedures and safety protocols to ensure the highest standards of hygiene and sanitation are met at all times.

Experience

• Previous experience working in a food service environment such as a grocery store, butcher shop, or quick service restaurant is preferred.
• Familiarity with food preparation techniques specific to meats and seafood is highly desirable.
• Strong time management skills to efficiently handle multiple tasks during busy periods.
• Knowledge of food safety standards and sanitation practices within the food industry.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations for cash handling, retail math, and inventory management accurately.
