General Responsibilities: Under the direction of the Facilities Coordinator, the Maintenance Technician ensures all Haven facilities are safe, clean, and in good working conditions. This role involves performing repairs, maintenance, and yard upkeep, while working with local agencies to maintain compliance with state and local regulations.
Requirements: Minimum 2 years of maintenance experience, with at least 1 year in residential settings. Knowledge of basic electrical, maintenance, and appliance issues. Familiarity with Davis-Bacon regulations and local building codes. Completion of required agency training within 6 months of hire.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
FACILITY MAINTENANCE:
Perform general repairs, maintenance, and yard upkeep across all Haven facilities.
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, or technical issues and perform timely repairs to minimize downtime.
Follow all safety standards, regulatory guidelines, and company procedures. Report hazards and ensure that equipment is safe for operation.
Respond to maintenance requests using the ticketing system, prioritize tasks, and complete work orders efficiently along with facilities coordinator.
Ensure compliance with local and state fire and building codes.
Implement emergency procedures to enhance resident safety .
Monitor and report significant maintenance needs to the Shelter Directors and Director of Administration.
Oversee inventory and procurement of supplies while staying within budget.
Procure bids for contracted work and large purchases.
Coordinate with volunteers for maintenance projects when applicable.
Assist the Facilities Coordinator with maintaining the agency's vehicles.
CLIENT INTERACTION
Maintain a sensitive and supportive approach when interacting with clients, including women and children in crisis.
Work collaboratively with direct service staff and residents to ensure shelters feel welcoming and homelike.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Attend meetings as needed and participate in community fundraising or special events.
Maintain confidentiality regarding shelter locations.
OTHER TASKS AS ASSIGNED BY THE DIRECTOR OF ADMINISTRATION AND/OR THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR WITHIN THE SCOPE OF TRI-VALLEY HAVEN'S MISSION.
