We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Apartment Leasing Agent to join our vibrant property management team. Responsibilities
- Greet prospective tenants warmly and conduct engaging property tours to showcase available units and amenities
- Manage the leasing process from initial inquiry to lease signing, ensuring all documentation is accurate and complete
- Utilize property management software such as Yardi or OneSite to input data, track leads, and maintain organized records
- Verify applicant information through background checks, credit reports, and income verification in accordance with Fair Housing laws and Section 8 requirements
- Negotiate lease terms and contracts confidently while upholding legal standards and company policies
- Address tenant inquiries promptly via phone, email, or in person with exceptional customer service skills
- Coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure property readiness and facilitate smooth move-ins and move-outs
- Maintain compliance with LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit) regulations and other affordable housing programs
- Assist with conflict management between tenants or applicants by applying effective negotiation techniques and conflict resolution strategies
- Support administrative functions such as filing, data entry, and record keeping related to leasing activities
Qualifications
- Proven experience in property leasing or real estate administrative roles, preferably within property management or affordable housing sectors
- Strong knowledge of landlord-tenant law, Fair Housing regulations, LIHTC, Section 8, and related legal frameworks
- Proficiency with property management software including Yardi, OneSite, or similar platforms
- Excellent customer service skills combined with professional phone etiquette and conflict management abilities
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate lease agreements and contracts effectively
- Office experience involving data entry, filing, CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System), and administrative tasks
- Familiarity with facilities management principles related to property maintenance coordination
- Ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills—both verbal and written—and the ability to build positive relationships with residents and team members
