Position Summary

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse operations in a manufacturing environment, including receiving, storage, material movement, and shipping. This role ensures inventory accuracy, labor productivity, process compliance, and safe operations. The supervisor enforces standard work, controls material flow, and resolves issues that impact production, shipping, or inventory integrity.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Supervise receiving, put-away, storage, picking, kitting, and shipping activities.
  • Assign and manage daily labor to meet production and shipping priorities.
  • Ensure inventory accuracy through cycle counts, audits, and process enforcement.
  • Enforce standard work, 5S, and warehouse layout discipline.
  • Control warehouse access and material movement to prevent loss or misplacement.
  • Review and approve inventory transactions in the ERP/MRP system.
  • Investigate and resolve shortages, overages, damages, and discrepancies.
  • Coordinate with Production, Purchasing, Quality, and Logistics to support material flow.
  • Train, coach, and hold warehouse staff accountable for performance and compliance.
  • Monitor and enforce safety, ITAR, and quality system requirements.
  • Track and report key warehouse metrics including accuracy, on-time delivery, and labor efficiency.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives, layout changes, and process updates.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Additional coursework in logistics, supply chain, or warehouse operations preferred.

Experience: 5+ years of experience in receiving, warehouse operations, or material control in a manufacturing environment preferred.

Skills

  • Experience using ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, or equivalent)
  • Basic computer skills (data entry, email, spreadsheets)
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to read purchase orders, packing slips, and part labels
  • Clear communication and ability to work cross-functionally
  • Direct supervision of hourly warehouse personnel
  • Understanding of inventory control, cycle counts, and warehouse best practices
  • Labor scheduling, workload planning, and performance management
  • Material flow to and from production

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

  • Work performed in a warehouse/manufacturing environment
  • Regular standing, walking, bending, and reaching
  • Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 lbs., with or without assistance
  • Frequent use of carts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment
  • Exposure to moderate noise, forklifts, and warehouse traffic
  • Occasional overtime or weekend work may be required
