Not only do we work with over 6,500 dealerships and every major manufacturer in the country, were well-versed in OEM standards and the intricacies of a dealership or groups local business./ph3Position Overview/h3pAffinitiv is seeking a skilled SQL Database Administrator (DBA) to support, maintain, and optimize our on-premises SQL Server environments running on Microsoft Windows within a secure datacenter. This role is critical in ensuring the reliability, performance, and availability of the databases supporting Affinitivs enterprise applications and client-facing platforms./ph3Key Responsibilities/h3ulliInstall, configure, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server instances on Windows Server./liliManage databases across development, staging, and production environments./liliPerform patching, upgrades, health checks, and routine maintenance tasks./liliMonitor database and server performance using SQL Server-native tools and third-party platforms./liliOptimize queries, indexes, jobs, and overall database architecture./liliDiagnose and resolve performance bottlenecks across storage, compute, and SQL layers./liliDesign, implement, and maintain robust backup and recovery strategies./liliSupport HA/DR solutions including Always On Availability Groups, Clustering, Log Shipping, and Replication./liliEnsure Affinitivs systems meet defined RPO/RTO requirements./liliManage database-level security, accounts, roles, encryption, and auditing./liliWork with Security and Compliance teams to meet internal and external standards./liliMonitor activity for abnormal or high-risk events and act proactively./liliPartner with Infrastructure, Network, and Application teams to support server builds and configurations./liliDevelop and maintain scripts to automate routine tasks./liliLeverage monitoring for proactive oversight./liliImprove database management efficiency through automation and tooling enhancements./liliWork closely with software engineering, SRE, and product teams to support database needs in application lifecycles./liliProvide database expertise for new application features, deployments, and architecture decisions./liliMaintain clear, thorough documentation of database structures, configurations, and procedures./li/ulh3Required Qualifications/h3ulli47+ years of hands-on SQL Server DBA experience in enterprise or datacenter environments./liliDeep understanding of SQL Server HA/DR technologies./liliExperience with performance tuning, optimization, and advanced T-SQL./liliFamiliarity with PowerShell automation./li/ulh3Preferred Qualifications/h3ulliExperience with virtualization technologies (VMware or Hyper-V)./liliExposure to SAN/NAS storage systems and clustering./liliCloud database experience (Azure SQL, Managed Instance) is a plus./liliRelevant certifications (Microsoft, Azure, etc.)./li/ulh3Soft Skills/h3ulliStrong communication, collaboration, and documentation abilities./liliDetail-oriented with a strong focus on operational excellence and data integrity./liliAbility to work independently, prioritize effectively, and respond quickly in high-availability environments./li/ulpWork from Here/ppAt Affinitiv, we have the best of both worlds.
