As a Senior Network Engineer, you will serve as the technical lead for designing, implementing, and securing enterprise-level network infrastructure. This role is responsible for architecting resilient, scalable, and mission-ready network solutions that support modernized communications, data transport, and operational technology systems critical to base operations. As a senior technical authority, the Senior Network Engineer leads effort to integrate switching, routing, firewall, and wireless systems into legacy and next-generation environments. This position ensures alignment with DoD cybersecurity frameworks, network performance standards, and evolving mission requirements. Position may be located at Cheyenne Mountain SFS and/or Peterson SFB. This position is contingent upon successful contract award to V2X./ppResponsibilities Major Job Activities:/pulliSenior position with multi-disciplined network experience across wired, wireless, and mobile broadband solutions./liliUnderstands requirements, creates designs and network topology artifacts to meet or exceed connectivity, availability, reliability security SLAs./liliLeads the development of designs, plans and policies, and implementations of data networks based on the customers performance criteria and specifications./liliLeads site surveys and network assessments to determine the best hardware and software components for network upgrades to ensure networks are reliable, efficient, and secure./liliLeads preliminary and final SPRIP development./liliEnsures installations are performed within safety standards and work site conditions (cleanliness), including restoration of the site to original or better condition./liliProvides Post-Deployment Over-the-Shoulder-Training to the OM team to ensure smooth transition of the networks systems./liliDesigns and implements routing policies and load balancing solutions for the customers using BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP routing protocols./liliCreates cyber artifacts such as topology / data flow diagrams, hardware / software lists, STIG checklists, ports / protocols / services, and POAMs./liliDesigns and implements secure networks, systems, and application architectures./liliImplements and supports network management such as SNMP, SYSLOG, and orchestration./liliCreates LOM to capture all major components and installation materials to ensure successful deployment of systems./liliPrepares or contributes to deliverables and performance metrics where applicable./liliEnsures network solutions follow all pertinent DAF policies and established compliant IT system integrations./liliCoordinates with local Communication Squadron and/or regional cybersecurity teams to configure, turn up, and cutover new deployments./liliAssists the OM team in troubleshooting network-related issues post-deployment of the new systems./liliResolves technical issues with networks, hardware, and software. Possesses and applies expertise on multiple complex work assignments./li/ulpMaterial Equipment Directly Used: Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) and AutoCAD. Working Environment: Office environment with potential to support austere locations.
