Data Scientist
to support mission-critical programs and engineering teams in the
Northern Virginia area , applying advanced analytics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence to solve real-world operational challenges. In this role, you will collaborate closely with engineers, analysts, and mission stakeholders to design, build, and deploy data-driven solutions that directly impact decision-making and mission success. Responsibilities: Analyze large volumes of structured and unstructured data to uncover trends, patterns, and actionable insights Design, develop, and deploy statistical models and machine learning / AI solutions Integrate Large Language Models (LLMs) and Natural Language Processing (NLP) into analytical workflows and mission tools Develop data visualizations, dashboards, and reporting products for technical and non-technical audiences Build and support data-driven applications, including chatbot and decision-support tools Collaborate with software engineers and system architects to transition analytics into production environments Ensure data quality, validate sources, and document analytical methodologies Clearly communicate complex technical findings to mission stakeholders Required Qualifications: Strong background in mathematics and/or statistics (high-priority requirement) Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related technical field Hands-on experience with Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence Experience working with Large Language Models (LLMs) and Natural Language Processing (NLP) Proficiency in Python and SQL Experience using Elasticsearch for search, analytics, or data exploration Demonstrated experience creating data visualizations, dashboards, and chatbot tools Experience building or supporting chatbot tools or AI-enabled user interfaces Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills Ability to support teams onsite in the Northern Virginia area Preferred Qualifications Master's degree or higher in a quantitative or technical discipline Familiarity with big data technologies or cloud-based analytics platforms Experience supporting government, DoD, or Intelligence Community programs Position Clearance Requirement: TS/SCI with FSP
