Job Description/Requirements.
The Network Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, monitoring, and ongoing support of the company's network infrastructure across multiple retail store locations, a distribution center, and a centralized support center. This role ensures reliable, secure, and high-performance connectivity for business-critical systems and network-connected devices, including point-of-sale (POS) systems, handheld scanners, wireless access points, cameras, and other operational technologies.
What You'll Do
Network Design & Operations
Design, deploy, and maintain WAN, LAN, and WLAN infrastructure across retail stores, distribution facilities, and support centers
Manage internet connectivity, site-to-site VPNs, SD-WAN, MPLS, or broadband connections
Monitor network performance, availability, and capacity to ensure uptime and scalability
Configure and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless controllers
Retail & Distribution Network Support
Ensure reliable connectivity for POS systems, inventory systems, handheld devices, and IoT/operational equipment
Support store openings, relocations, and remodels, including circuit provisioning and on-site/network readiness
Troubleshoot network issues affecting store operations, distribution workflows, and corporate users
Coordinate with ISPs, carriers, and vendors to resolve connectivity issues
Security & Compliance
Implement and maintain network security controls, including firewalls, VLANs, ACLs, and VPNs
Support compliance requirements (e.g., PCI-DSS for retail environments)
Monitor and respond to network security events and vulnerabilities
Maintain secure segmentation between corporate, guest, and operational networks
Monitoring & Documentation
Use network monitoring and alerting tools to proactively identify and resolve issues
Maintain accurate network diagrams, configurations, and documentation
Track network assets, circuits, and IP address management (IPAM)
Collaboration & Support
Work closely with IT operations, security, systems, and application teams
Provide Tier 2/3 network support and participate in on-call rotations as needed
Assist with vendor evaluations and technology upgrades
What We're Looking For
Minimum Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology , Computer Science, or equivalent experience
3+ years of experience managing enterprise or multi-site networks
Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, and switching
Experience supporting WAN connectivity for distributed retail or branch environments
Hands-on experience with firewalls and VPN technologies
Experience using the following technology:
Routers & Switches ( Unifi,Cisco , Aruba, Juniper, etc.)
Firewalls (Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco, etc.)
Wireless (Meraki, Aruba, Cisco)
Monitoring tools (SolarWinds, PRTG, Datadog, etc.)
VPN / SD-WAN solutions
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in retail or logistics /distribution environments
Familiarity with SD-WAN solutions
Experience with wireless networking in high-density or store environments
Knowledge of PCI-DSS or other compliance frameworks
Network certifications (CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent)
Vendor and/or Project Management
Passion for advancement in technology
Expert level knowledge in Palo Alto firewalls and Unifi Networks.
Work Environment
The position is based in an office environment, requiring periods of sitting and the operation of standard office equipment, including computers, phones, and other office tools . Work hours are typically 8-5, Monday through Friday, with occasional evening and weekend hours as needed .
