in execution and impact Position Summary: The Security Solutions Engineer is an expert in information security focused on assessing and enhancing customer environments' security posture. The role involves managing technical aspects of customer systems, ensuring solution uptime, availability, policy development, and troubleshoot issues. You will also be responsible for the technical development of various security solutions including Proofpoint Protection Server, TAP, TRAP, and other Proofpoint products. As an escalation point and mentor for the team, you will help develop internal processes and foster collaboration across business units to streamline service delivery. Participation in maintaining the ISO 27001 Information Security Management System (ISMS) is crucial, which includes attending annual training and being open to spot checks to continually improve our ISMS and ensure careful handling of customer data. Duties & Essential Job Functions: Act as an escalation point for other engineers on the team. Optimize security policies against emerging threats in line with best practices. Create and develop custom solutions for managed security systems. Maximize system uptime and performance. Utilize internal CRM for problem tracking and project development. Assist the team in achieving all customer SLAs. Demonstrate strong analytical problem-solving skills to diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues. Stay updated on industry trends, security news, and best practices. Participate in on-call rotation after hours and weekends as necessary. Maintain flexibility in schedule to meet job requirements. Resolve client issues quickly and effectively while ensuring high customer satisfaction. Lead technical discussions with customers and partnering organizations. Research and analyze industry trends and vulnerabilities to communicate risks and implement mitigation solutions. Administer and support lab environments, including change request review and approval. Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (experience may be considered in lieu of a degree). Experience with Email Security. Background in corporate computer networking, technical support, system administration, and experience with Windows, Unix/Linux operating systems and/or network security. Proficiency with Proofpoint email security products, including relevant certification and training. Experience designing and implementing Proofpoint solutions. Strong critical thinking abilities to manage customer expectations in high-pressure situations. Proficient in technical writing and communication. Ability to troubleshoot client issues with determination and patience. Effective collaboration with team members and clients. Desire to mentor junior engineers. Self-motivated, capable of managing multiple tasks effectively. Strong analytical capabilities and problem-solving skills, presenting solutions clearly. Excellent time-management skills. Preferred: Experience with Proofpoint email security products - PoD/TAP/TRAP. Expertise in information security or network security. SQL or Oracle database experience. Familiarity with regular expressions. Scripting knowledge in Perl, Python, Java, or Bash. Proofpoint product certifications.
