Primary Skills: Incident Response-Expert, Scripting-Advanced, TCP/IP-Expert, Security Analysis-Expert, Digital Forensics-Advanced Contract Type: W2 Only Duration: 8+ Months with Possible Extension Location: Washington DC (Hybrid) Pay Range: $60 - $65 per hour. on W2 Job Summary: We are looking for a seasoned Cyber Security Incident Response Team (CSIRT) Engineer with expertise in SOC support, cyber analysis, scripting, and automation to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will work on flexible shifts, providing 24x7x365 support, innovating solutions to mitigate security threats, and collaborating to solve complex security challenges in a diverse environment. This role demands hands-on experience with security methodologies, TCP/IP protocols, and analysis of security log data from numerous devices. Key Responsibilities:
Conduct detailed investigations to determine the extent of compromise to information and automated systems. Respond to escalated security incidents to develop and execute security controls and countermeasures. Research attempted or successful efforts to compromise system security and design countermeasures. Educate on tools, techniques, countermeasures, and trends in network vulnerabilities and security. Communicate updates effectively to leadership and collaborate with supporting teams and adjacent departments.
Must-Have Skills:
Extensive experience in Incident Response or Digital Forensics. Proficient with scripting languages such as Python or Perl. Advanced knowledge and understanding of TCP/IP protocols and networking fundamentals.
Industry Experience: Prior experience in Cybersecurity, specifically in Incident Detection and Response or a Security Operations Center (SOC).
