Summary: Meta is on the lookout for a Connectivity Engineer to be a vital part of our Design Engineering and Construction (DEC) team. Our data centers form the backbone of our services, powering the infrastructure that connects the world to a wealth of information. This role is essential in ensuring that DEC telecommunication projects are executed efficiently, on time, and to the highest quality standards. As a Connectivity Engineer, you will oversee the entire project life-cycle from inception to operational handover, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams across our data center network. Key Responsibilities: Project Planning & Control:
Develop, maintain, and communicate project scope, schedules, and milestones. Work alongside the project management team throughout the project lifecycle from planning to completion.
Process Improvement:
Regularly assess ongoing projects for efficiency improvements and opportunities for cross-functional collaboration. Document findings to aid field coordination and enhance project management practices.
Budget Forecasting:
Assist the project controls team in budget forecasting and status updates. Ensure thorough communication across teams for seamless transitions.
Technical Reviews:
Establish equipment milestones and support contractor selection for structured cabling projects.
Metrics & Reporting:
Keep stakeholders informed about project status, risks, and metrics.
Workflow Management:
Collaborate with installation partners to monitor project milestones and ensure effective project handoffs.
Vendor Management:
Oversee all connectivity activities and maintain a strong relationship with installation partners to achieve project goals.
Quality Assurance:
Conduct inspections to ensure vendor compliance with DEC standards throughout the project lifecycle.
Technical Leadership:
Act as the technical lead for standards compliance and issue resolution in the field.
Coordination:
Partner with design and engineering teams to address any in-field issues and support design reviews.
Effective Communication:
Liaise with various partners to ensure deliverables are met during project execution.
Safety Compliance:
Ensure adherence to safety regulations and foster a safety-first culture on site.
Minimum Qualifications: 7+ years of project management experience.
Proven ability to engage and guide diverse stakeholders.
Strong problem-solving skills for construction-related challenges.
Experience with MS Office and MS Project.
Preferred Qualifications: Proficient in reviewing and managing installations against design specifications.
Experience in data center development or construction management.
Knowledge of Quality Assurance and Quality Control practices.
Experience with Network/Structured cabling deployments.
Familiarity with fiber optic testing and troubleshooting.
Experience with outside plant cabling deployments.
Background in managing IT or IP network projects in critical environments.
Experience with Primavera 6 is a plus.
Compensation: $123,000/year to $176,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits Industry:
