As we continue to expand, we are seeking a motivated and driven Software Engineering Manager to join our team. Job Summary: The Software Engineering Manager is responsible for leading and developing a high-performing team of software engineers, guiding both technical execution and professional growth. This role partners closely with product, design, and engineering leadership to deliver innovative, scalable, and high-quality software, while fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented team culture. As a Software Engineering Manager, you’ll be responsible for: People Leadership Lead, mentor, and coach a team of software engineers by providing ongoing feedback and supporting career development. Oversee the hiring, onboarding, and training process for new engineers. Conduct effective 1-on-1 meetings and performance reviews. Ensure strong communication between engineers and stakeholders. Project and Technical Execution Align team priorities with organizational goals in collaboration with engineering and product leadership. Work with product managers, designers, and QA to translate business goals into technical solutions and milestones. Participate in architectural reviews and guide technical decisions and best practices. Enable the team to deliver high-quality, maintainable code via Agile methodologies. Conduct code reviews, design discussions, and incident response. Remove blockers and help troubleshoot complex issues. Develop, test, and maintain high-quality code. Process and Continuous Improvement Establish, document, and optimize team processes to improve delivery and quality. Drive adoption of modern software engineering practices. Support the evaluation and integration of new technologies. Supervisory Responsibilities Responsible for interviewing, hiring, and performance management of direct reports. Oversee team workflow and ensure effective allocation of tasks. Address discipline or termination as required (with HR support and in accordance with company policy). Here’s what you’ll need to be successful in this role: Required Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience (6+ years in the industry). 2+ years of experience leading or managing software engineers. Proven experience as a software engineer with expertise in web development. Strong technical background with proficiency in modern frameworks. Experience with software architecture, design patterns, and RESTful API design. In-depth experience building and deploying applications using AWS services. Exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to tackle technical challenges. Effective communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams and presenting technical concepts. Experience with agile methodologies, version control systems (e.g., Git), and code review processes. Preferred Experience with SQL and/or NoSQL databases. Familiarity with UI/UX principles. Prior experience delivering web applications at scale. Knowledge of secure coding practices and testing frameworks. Work Environment and Company Benefits: This is a virtual, full-time position. You will work remotely from your home office, and occasional travel may be required for meetings, trade shows and training.
