Leverage the latest in Generative AI and Agentic AI to enhance AI features in Splunk Observability.
Collaborate across engineering and product teams to create strong frameworks for assessing the trustworthiness and resilience of AI systems.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship within the team, establishing best practices for development, testing, and artifact management.
Essential Requirements PhD in Computer Science or a related field with 6+ years of software engineering experience, or a master’s degree with 10+ years of experience.
Proven experience in designing and constructing scalable cloud-based systems (AWS, Azure, or GCP), including container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker).
Demonstrated expertise in technical leadership, architecture design, and complete feature ownership in AI/ML or platform domains.
Familiarity with API design and frameworks (e.g., OpenAPI, GraphQL, gRPC, REST).
Experience in deploying RAG and Agentic products in production settings.
Must be proficient with vibe coding tools (Claude Code, Codex, Copilot, Windsurf, Cursor).
Up-to-date understanding of the latest Agentic and Generative AI research.
Desired Qualifications Exceptional problem-solving abilities, with a knack for analyzing complex requirements and proposing effective solutions.
Experience in developing, deploying, and maintaining services within an AWS environment using cloud-native solutions.
Background in monitoring and analyzing metrics, trace, span, and log content.
Familiarity with observability, generative AI, or model robustness.

Message for Applicants in the U.S. and Canada: Our starting salary for this position ranges from $226,300.00 to $293,300.00, reflective of the expected salary range for new hires, excluding additional compensation, equity, or benefits. Eligible employees may also receive grants of Cisco restricted stock units, vesting over designated periods of employment. 1 paid day off for an employee's birthday, a year-end holiday shutdown, and 4 paid personal wellness days determined by Cisco.
Non-exempt employees receive 16 days of paid vacation each year, accrued at a rate of 4.92 hours per pay period for full-time staff.
Exempt employees participate in a flexible vacation time program without a set limit (subject to business needs).
80 hours of sick time off on hire date and annually every January 1st, with a carryover of unused sick time allowed.
Optional 10 paid days each year for volunteer work.
For non-sales roles, employees may be eligible for annual bonuses based on Cisco's policies.
