Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to lead innovative electrical system design and development across diverse projects for Aerospace Test Equipment. In this dynamic role, you will leverage your expertise in electrical engineering principles, system design, and advanced technologies to deliver cutting-edge solutions. Your proactive approach will drive project success from conception through implementation, ensuring high-quality standards and adherence to industry regulations. Key Responsibilities:

  • Electrical design of 115VAC circuits
  • Electrical design of motor pump drive circuits using 480VAC
  • Creating custom control cabinets for test rig sub-components
  • Design Data Acquisition Systems (DAS) and Unit Under Test (UUT) Tester control systems
  • Creating electrical schematics using Visio
  • Hold Electrical Design Reviews
  • Lead the design, development, and integration of complex electrical systems, including PCB layouts and FPGA implementations.
  • Conduct thorough root cause analysis on electrical failures or system malfunctions, implementing effective troubleshooting strategies using tools like oscilloscopes, ohmmeters, and signal processing techniques.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to define project scope, create schedules using project management methodologies, and ensure timely delivery of milestones.
  • Oversee manufacturing processes involving surface mount technology (SMT)
  • Perform system design, test, and debugging Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), and firmware development environments.
  • Ensure electrical safety standards are met by adhering to NEC codes and industry best practices during design and implementation phases.
  • Support mechanical integration efforts by coordinating with mechanical engineers using SolidWorks for comprehensive system design.
  • Document all design specifications, schematics, test procedures, and technical reports accurately for project records and compliance audits.

Required Qualifications

  • 6-12 years of Electrical Engineering experience
  • Familiarity with temperature controllers, PID loops, understanding of feedback loops and error signals.
  • Experience with pressure transducers, thermocouples, RTD's, data acquisition systems preferred.
  • Working knowledge of DVMs, function generators, counters, and oscilloscopes
  • Proven experience in electrical engineering with a focus on system design, PCB development, FPGA, and embedded systems.
  • Hands-on experience with manufacturing processes including surface mount technology (SMT), soldering (manual or machine-assisted)
  • Knowledge of mechanical engineering principles related to electrical systems integration
  • Experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) or similar embedded hardware solutions.
  • Ability to perform comprehensive testing using tools such as oscilloscopes, ohmmeters, signal analyzers; capable of conducting thorough debugging sessions.
  • Understanding of industry standards such as NEC codes for electrical safety compliance across various applications.
  • Able to travel both within the USA and internationally

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with AS9100/ISO 9001 quality frameworks
  • Proficient in Visio and Microsoft Office
  • Familiarity with programming languages including C++, Python, Perl or scripting environments used for automation and data analysis.
  • Demonstrated expertise in signal processing, firmware development, debugging techniques, and root cause analysis within complex electronic environments.
  • Knowledge of LabVIEW and VeriStand programming languages.

Pay: $86, $130,190.38 per year
