PurposeProvide proactive and productive Advancement Services support within the College
of Liberal Arts (COLA) Development Office, with consistent focus on high-level attention to detail and
accuracy in support of our donors, students, and faculty
Under the supervision of the Director Advancement Services, and working directly with Gift Officers on the COLA Development Team, the Development Associate will enhance the College's engagements with alumni, donors, leadership, parents, faculty, students, and staff by leading, managing, and executing the following tasks and projects:
- Assist in the coordination of activities for COLA Gift Officers and other staff members as assigned. Provide support that allows for efficient and effective use of staff members' time.
- Assist with portfolio management and strategy execution for COLA Gift Officers.
- Assist with goal setting, proposal preparation, strategy development, and stewardship as required for donors.
- Assist with maintaining appropriate electronic documentation on a timely basis, including engagement activities, proposal tracking, contact reports, donor strategies, and forecasting.
- Assist with recording timely reports, letters, proposals, or gift agreements following a donor contact. Assist with prospect and donor research, individualized donor stewardship projects, and various forms of donor outreach as needed.
- Plan and execute various ah hoc and donor-driven events, such as workshops, webinars, and campus visits.
- Serve as a resource of information for COLA Gift Officers.
- Coordinate internal and external meetings, plan travel, and process reimbursements in a timely manner. Work collaboratively, proactively, and in a professional, service-oriented manner with all university development staff to further the development goals of the university.
- Other related functions and duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree. A combination of one year of experience assisting with fundraising programs or
performing complex administrative functions. Highly effective communication skills (written, verbal,
interpersonal). Project management skills. Capable of working independently and under pressure, while also engaging in collaboration between teams. Excellence in problem-analyzing, problem-solving, and customer service. Demonstrated high attention to details and accountability. Ability to use discretion and maintain integrity and professionalism. High degree of proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office. Demonstrated excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate
Preferred QualificationsMore than five years of administrative assistance experience. Experience with a CRM database. Working knowledge of UT Austin's policies and procedures.
