Overview

A leading, high-volume manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced
Quality Manager
to lead plant-level quality strategy, systems, and execution. This role is responsible for ensuring product quality, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement across manufacturing operations while serving as a key partner to Operations, Engineering, and Supply Chain.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on quality leader with deep experience in automotive manufacturing, strong customer-facing capabilities, and a proven track record of driving quality performance in complex production environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and maintain the plant Quality Management System in compliance with
    IATF 16949
    ,
    ISO 9001
    , and customer-specific requirements
  • Own plant quality KPIs including PPM, scrap, rework, warranty, and customer scorecards
  • Serve as the primary quality interface for OEM and Tier-1 customers, including audits, launches, and issue resolution
  • Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions using structured problem-solving methodologies (8D, 5-Why, Fishbone, etc.)
  • Partner with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Supply Chain to ensure robust process controls and continuous improvement
  • Lead internal and external audits, including customer, third-party, and internal system audits
  • Support new product launches through APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, and Control Plan development
  • Manage, coach, and develop the quality team (quality engineers, technicians, inspectors)
  • Champion a culture of quality, accountability, and operational excellence throughout the plant

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related technical discipline
  • 8–12+ years of quality leadership experience in automotive or high-volume manufacturing
  • Strong working knowledge of
    IATF 16949
    ,
    Core Tools
    (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA), and customer requirements
  • Experience managing customer relationships and leading quality responses at a senior level
  • Proven ability to lead teams, influence cross-functional partners, and drive change
  • Hands-on, data-driven, and comfortable in a fast-paced production environment
