SUMMARY
The Resident Assistant position will work in collaboration with the housing case manager to- provide housing that is safe and affordable, facilitate growth and recovery, and assist in the empowerment of individuals living with a variety of challenges and victories. The Resident Assistant will work with each tenant to teach basic cleaning skills and provide instruction on household duties to maintain the upkeep of their personal and shared spaces. The Resident Assistant will work with each client independently to assess their individual needs and work towards personal goals and improved daily living skills. The Resident Assistant will also be responsible for the overall flow of the day-to-day activities of the house including planning recreational events and keeping an up-to-date calendar of events to inform tenants and assisting tenants with any other tasks that may arise.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with the tenants to allow them to provide input for changes or suggestions to make the program work better.
- Host bi-weekly House meeting to check in with clients to ensure house and care coordination, to discuss needs and housing business and upcoming calendar events.
- Provide orientation to the house for new residents and getting them acclimated to the house and program.
- Helps tenants develop a budget and understand their finances.
- Helps tenants develop resumes or prep for employment opportunities.
- Assist with grocery shopping transportation.
- Help schedule transportation in advance for medical appointments.
- Assist with tenants' medication refills and pick up.
- Provide conflict management in collaboration with the case manager for tenants.
- Help tenants with any technological challenges.
- Keep inventory of the food pantry and paper goods and reorder/restock as needed monthly.
- Help tenants develop a budget and understand their finances.
- Help tenants develop resumes or prep for employment opportunities.
- Teaching of daily living skills including as needed such as: cooking, laundry, cleaning of shared common spaces such as kitchen, bathrooms.
- Completing monthly physical inspections of the property.
- Completing minor maintenance requests including cleaning, and snow removal.
- Ensuring clients keep their personal rooms tidy and sanitary.
- Establish a house chore list to keep all tenants involved with the responsibility of the houses.
- Establishing and creating a recreation calendar each month for social activities such as BBQ's, game nights, movie nights, pizza nights, mall trips etc.
- Once a month enter a Progress Note into HMIS on any skills worked on throughout the last month.
EXPERIENCE
- Qualified applicants will possess experience working with diverse populations and individuals who are: living in poverty, have a history of homelessness, are experiencing mental health challenges and/or substance use or addiction, have prior incarcerations, and/or physical, mental, or developmental disabilities.
EDUCATION
- High school diploma/GED preferred but will consider experience in replacement of education.

$17.30-$18.27
