Human Resources Generalist
for a full-time contract hire engagement. This organization is experiencing significant growth and is focused on building a strong, inclusive workplace culture while supporting employees through scalable HR processes and compliance.
This role is ideal for an HR professional who thrives in a hands-on environment, enjoys supporting employees across all levels of an organization, and is comfortable owning day-to-day HR operations while collaborating closely with senior HR leadership.
Position Overview
The Human Resources Generalist serves as a key point of contact for employees and leadership, managing a wide range of HR functions including payroll processing, employee relations, recruiting support, onboarding, compliance, and training administration. The role works closely with the senior HR leader to ensure operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and a positive employee experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and process full-cycle payroll accurately and on time, including wages, bonuses, overtime, and deductions
- Ensure payroll and HR compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
- Track and document mandatory and non-mandatory training, certifications, licensure, and continuing education
- Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and required competencies
- Post roles, screen candidates, coordinate interviews, and support hiring decisions
- Conduct background checks and employment eligibility verifications
- Coordinate and deliver new hire orientation and onboarding programs
- Support employee recognition, engagement, and morale initiatives
- Administer HR programs including compensation, benefits, leave management, employee relations, disciplinary actions, investigations, and performance support
- Respond to employee and applicant inquiries, escalating sensitive matters as appropriate
- Participate in employee relations matters including disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations when needed
- Maintain HR documentation, personnel files, and internal records (physical and digital)
- Draft and issue HR documents such as offer letters, compensation notices, and internal communications
- Stay current on HR best practices, regulatory changes, and HR technology trends
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support organizational needs
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in a Human Resources Generalist or similar HR role
- Strong working knowledge of payroll processing; ADP experience preferred not required
- Solid understanding of employment laws and HR compliance
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal, conflict resolution, and customer service skills
- High level of organization, attention to detail, and time management
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred not Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- SHRM or similar HR certification
- Experience supporting organizations in regulated or mission-driven environments
