Armed Security Officer

Diamond Touch Security is seeking to immediately hire Armed Security Officers who are current or former law enforcement or corrections officers with the necessary qualifications and credentials to carry a weapon in the five boroughs of New York City - primarily in the Bronx, Brooklyn, or Queens.

The selected candidates will be responsible for general loss prevention, conducting foot patrols of the storefront and surrounding areas, managing access control, monitoring designated areas, intervening and de-escalating situations, and ensuring that parking lots are open and clear for customers.

Eligible applicants must possess either;

1.) New York Pistol License (NYPL) "restricted or unrestricted" permit (red border) if you live within the five boroughs.

2.) New York Pistol License (NYPL) "restricted or unrestricted" permit (red border) AND a CCW from Westchester, Nassau, Rockland, or Orange County if you live outside the five boroughs.

3.) CCW from Westchester, Nassau, Rockland, or Orange County if you live outside the five boroughs AND are retired law enforcement or corrections officers.

4.) Active duty department/agency credentials that allow moonlighting.

5.) In addition to the above requirements, Armed Security Officers that are NOT active duty Law Enforcement or Corrections Officers, you must also have in your possession a Armed Security Guard card. Working under your LEOSA/HR218 does not supersede the requirement for the above NYPL or CCW requirements. LEOSA/HR218 is for personal use and not work-related duties.

REQUIREMENTS:

• ONLY armed and properly licensed current/former Law enforcement or Corrections will be considered (per client).
• MUST be able to carry concealed in the 5 boroughs AND provide valid credentials authorizing you to carry in NYC. (Full Carry Permit)
• (If applicable) must have an unexpired "unrestricted concealed carry handgun license" (red border) if not active LEO or Corrections.
• (If applicable) Must have an unexpired "armed security guard" card.
• (If applicable) Must have 8hr/16hr certifications.
• (If applicable) Must have retired ID/creds (not expired)
• All credentials must be current and valid and adhere to the above requirements.
• Must be able to work outdoors/indoors in various weather conditions.
• Must be able to work a standing/walking post or assigned area.
• Must have a well-groomed and professional appearance.
• Must be able to pass a criminal background investigation.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (excerp of the onsite SOPs):

• Responsible for the safety and security of assigned client property and site location.
• Intervene with loiterers, unauthorized personnel, and those not adhering to community or property guidelines.
• Intervene with person(s) engaging in suspicious or criminal acts.
• Monitor premises/area to prevent theft, violence, or infractions of rules.
• Proactively patrol assigned area(s) while being a visible deterrent.
• Warn violators of premise rules and regulations.
• Provide investigation and surveillance support, as needed.
• Document and make reports as per the contract requirements.
• Successfully utilize Diamond Touch Security scheduling app and reporting mechanisms.
