Über

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Serves as the key technical resource for the manufacturing operation, focusing on preventative and corrective maintenance of all equipment in the manufacturing facility. Responsible for improving equipment design, reliability, and maintainability, and plays a critical role in minimizing downtime and failure rates, maximizing productivity.

SPECIFIC DUTIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Preventative Maintenance

  • Develops, implements and manages the preventative maintenance program for the plant and equipment.
  • Schedules and performs preventative maintenance checks and maintains related records.
  • Evaluates need for new equipment or supplies for the building.
  • Manages Computerized Maintenance Manager Software (CMMS Expert).

Corrective Maintenance

  • Coordinates, arranges and supervises, or provides for the completion of corrective maintenance to all machinery, facilities, fixtures, and tools in and around the manufacturing facility. Corrective maintenance to include mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic fixes.
  • Establishes procedures and contacts to ensure timely repairs of equipment.
  • Acts as the primary liaison between outside contractors and company, ensuring safe, efficient, cost effective corrective maintenance solutions for machinery, facilities, fixtures, and tools.
  • Maintains appropriate levels of repair parts to minimize downtime, while staying within departmental budget.

Safety

  • Ensures departmental compliance with state and federal regulations governing safety while performing maintenance functions.
  • Ensures OSHA compliance equipment inspections are completed in regulated timeframes. Retains compliance checklists.
  • Leads the internal Safety Committee.
  • Facilitates safety training in the plant.
  • Investigates and mitigates accidents in the plant or on the grounds.
  • Arranges and coordinates annual fire safety inspections with local fire department. Follows up on recommendations.

Leadership

  • Manages a staff of one maintenance technician.
  • Provides strong technical guidance and leadership to department.
  • Responsible for ongoing education and training of department staff.
  • Conducts performance conversations with maintenance employee.

Other

  • Purchases all consumable products and materials for the facility (MRO).
  • Responsible for maintaining grounds and buildings.
  • Maintains the company vehicles.
  • Conducts and performs loss of assets investigations.
  • Manages all contracts and associated contacts in regard to maintaining the entire facility (production, office, grounds, vehicles).
  • Perform other duties as required or requested.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor degree or related work experience
  • 5+ years' experience in a manufacturing environment, including experience with electrical, hydraulics, and pneumatics
  • Vast knowledge of OSHA safety requirements
  • Supervisory experience
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office
  • Maintenance management systems experience a plus
  • Must be able to deal with a fast-paced environment

BENEFICIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to communicate with Spanish speaking employees a plus
  • Prior experience within the cycling or outdoor industry
  • Enthusiasm for the cycling/ outdoor/ triathlon industry

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to walk or stand for a 9-hour shift, or otherwise perform these tasks (Majority of time will be spent away from a desk)
  • Ability to position self to perform equipment, building, and grounds maintenance, or otherwise perform these tasks
  • Ability to ascend/descend ladders, or otherwise perform these tasks
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, either alone or with help
