Equipment Operator w/CDL

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Equipment Operator with a CDL to join our team. This role involves operating heavy equipment and driving commercial vehicles to and from job sites. Ideal candidates are dependable, safety-minded, and experienced working in field conditions.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment such as skid steers, tractors, excavators, mulchers, and related machinery

• Safely transport equipment and materials using CDL-required vehicles

• Perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance

• Follow job plans, safety procedures, and supervisor instructions

• Work outdoors in varying weather conditions

• Maintain clean, organized job sites

• Communicate effectively with crew members and supervisors

Requirements

• Valid CDL (Class A or B) – clean driving record required

• Proven experience operating heavy equipment

• Strong understanding of job-site safety and DOT regulations

• Ability to work long hours and travel to job sites as needed

• Reliable transportation and strong work ethic

• Must pass background check and drug screening

Preferred (But Not Required)

• Experience working for a utility contractor (electric, gas, telecom, or right-of-way work)

• Experience in vegetation management, land clearing, or construction

• Mechanical aptitude for equipment troubleshooting

• Prior work around substations, rights-of-way, or commercial sites
