Job Description:

Coordinates the activities to assure nursing department staffing needs are identified and accurately performs job role without the need for close supervision. Functions effectively in stressful situations, prioritizes efficiently, and recognizes emergency situations, responding appropriately. Assures daily staffing sheets are complete and accurate, reporting staffing concerns/issues/resignations to the appropriate manager or director. Coordinates daily communication of staffing needs with all three facilities, maintaining staffing to department matrix or nurse manager's acuity direction. Assists with the development and maintenance of four-week staffing schedules as requested by the unit's manager or director, and communicates to all three campuses daily. Participates in implementing new staffing policies/procedures as assigned, utilizing Part Time/Per Diem/Clinical Internal Agency/PRN Agency staff to alleviate overtime and agency use. Reviews employee attendance of unscheduled time off (call-off) and communicates areas of concern to appropriate Nursing Managers/Directors. Provides education to staff, including managers and directors, to promote efficient and effective use of the electronic staffing program. Assists Staffing Manager with PRN Agency orientation process, schedules PRN Agency staff for orientation with approval, and assures all documentation is obtained. Evaluates the need for per diem internal float personnel by position and specialty, assigning them into schedules at all three facilities, and assures that outside agency evaluations per policy are submitted and complete. Seeks and accepts constructive criticism, implements actions designed for self-improvement, works effectively with others, protects confidentiality, and recognizes the importance of being a role model. Reviews internal per diem float staff adherence to time and attendance policies, assists with completion of time and attendance input by individual nursing departments as requested. Other duties as assigned.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Education:

  • High School Grad or Equiv (Required)

Field of Study:

  • education or equivalent
  • College and/or business training

Work Experience:

  • Computer experience (Required)
  • Previous personnel staffing experience (Preferred)
