Position Title: Development and Community Relations Coordinator
Hours: Part-Time (20 hours/week)
Location: Torrance, CA
Compensation: $26-28/ hour

We offer a comprehensive program that includes housing, case management, children's programming, mental health support, and wraparound services. Position Overview
Development and Community Relations Coordinator is essential to ensuring we can deliver on our mission. You will support the strategic marketing initiatives and creative projects with Family Promise of Los Angeles. You will be accountable for creating digital marketing strategies, managing volunteers, coordinating in-kind donations from community partners, overseeing two community fundraisers, and supporting event planning, including the annual Empty Bowls and Gala fundraisers. You will have a relentless passion to elevate the Family Promise brand and achieve the necessary resources to help families with children in our community.
Key Responsibilities
Development & Communications (35%):
- Support in carrying out fundraising strategies and campaigns.
- Support in the coordination of community fundraisers.
- Engage and foster relationships with the community and secure new sponsorships.
- Support in planning marketing strategies around fundraising events.
- Contribute to strategic and event development.
- Support in the planning and execution of the annual Empty Bowls & Gala Fundraisers.
- Support in the execution of fund development initiatives including grant writing initiatives.
Volunteer Management & Community Engagement (35%):
- Manage and coordinate volunteers to support various FP initiatives and events.
- Cultivate and establish passionate community partnerships aligned with the FP mission while securing new sponsorships.
- Engage and foster relationships with community partners for in-kind donations and other support.
- Plan and coordinate volunteer opportunities to engage partners, community members, and key stakeholders.
- Nurture and create new community partnerships.
Digital Marketing (30%):
- Assist in designing online campaigns and strategies that point to FP mission and create additional streams of organization revenue.
- Create high quality caliber flyers and invites for Family Promise events
- Support in managing FP website, social media, online newsletters, and help to create digital assets for the organization.
Qualifications
- Passion for serving families with children in our community.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Digital marketing experience preferred.
- Be personable and professional with the ability to interface with diverse constituents, including government, corporate, and faith-based partners.
- Outstanding organizational, judgment, and problem-solving skills. Solid intuition is a must.
- Can self-manage and focus on multiple projects/deadlines at the same time; attention to details.
- Experience with creating digital content, working with vendors, quality control with creative services, working knowledge of non-profit trends, managing social media accounts.
- A commitment to high professional ethical standards, discretion, and confidentiality. Operate with professionalism, integrity, and honesty.

Work Environment & Measuring Success
- The Coordinator reports to the Family Promise Executive Director.
- Family Promise consists of a small staff and a large pool of volunteers.
- This position's success is measured by: marketing benchmarks, expanding brand/marketing reach, and ability to serve more families with children.
Compensation
- This is a part-time position with benefits: PTO, Mental Health days, and mileage reimbursement for work-related car travel.

Pay: $ $28.00 per hour
