SUMMARY
The Field Services Manager oversees the field services, repairs and operations of the Major Corrective crews. The includes managing technicians, scheduling work, ensuring safety, and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB
- Team Management: Lead, train and develop a team of field technicians to ensure high-quality work and efficiency.
- Technical Expertise: Provide guidance on troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues within wind turbines and related systems.
- Safety and Compliance: Ensure that all field operations company with environmental, health and safety regulations.
- Customer Relations: Address customer concerns, process warranty claims, and maintain good relationships with clients and partners.
- Resource Management: Allocate resources to ensure service requests are completed within service level agreements and budget.
- Developing Workflow Processes: Create and maintain effective workflow processes, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing changes that enhance efficiency.
- Administration: Perform administrative functions such as daily logs, writing technical reports, and preparing job status reports
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Electrical aptitude and sufficient GE platform experience and training certificates.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Highly focused with good attention to detail.
- Certified in troubleshooting of turbine alarms/faults.
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION
- At least 4 years of wind experience.
- College degree or technical school preferred.
- Proficient in MS Office 365 applications.
- Training preferred - GWO BST, GWO BTT, NFPA70E or equivalent, OSHA 10 or 30, confined space, Class 7 forklift, Rigger 1, Hand & Radio signal, hazardous communication, GE LOTO, OEM Competency Cert (Level 1-8, Maintenance, Troubleshooting, major components, etc.), LOTO.
