CNC Machinist

OMT-Veyhl is seeking a CNC Machinist / Roll Machine and Turning Center Technician. This position is able to work either a 1st or 2nd shift schedule.

POSITION SUMMARY: The Roll Machine and Turning Center Technician is responsible for producing rolled and turned parts in accordance with engineering specifications. This position involves operating thread rolling and CNC Swiss lathe equipment, inspecting finished parts for quality, and ensuring all work meets company standards for precision, safety, and efficiency.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Set up and operate thread rolling machines and CNC Swiss lathes to produce parts to specification.
• Adjust offsets within machine to produce parts to specification.
• Measure and inspect parts to ensure quality and adherence to print specifications.
• Maintain a clean machine and work area.
• Control and monitor material flow throughout the process.
• Load and unload machines as required.
• Perform routine maintenance and calibration on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
• Follow all environmental, safety, and efficiency regulations.
• Coordinate work with upstream and downstream operations.
• Shuttle parts within the plant as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be self-motivated.
• Must have high attention to details.
• Must have ability to use common measuring tools and able to measure parts to tolerances of thousandths of an inch.
• Must have mechanical abilities.
• Must be a team player.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret common prints, CAD drawings.
• Ability to effectively respond to questions from management and customers.
• Must maintain absolute confidentiality in all areas of responsibility, including, but not limited to: company designs, manufacturing processes, tooling, and other company trade secrets.
• Ability to perform basic math functions using calculator or PC.
• Ability to use common plant measurement tools including calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables under strict manufacturing and product standards.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• High School diploma required. Certificate in relevant area from tech or trade school preferred.
• One to Two years CNC experience preferred.
