About Us

Lux Controls is a growing AV, lighting, and automation company serving high-end residential and select commercial clients across San Diego County. We focus on clean installs, automated systems, and long-term client relationships.

We're building steady project volume and are looking for a Lead Technician who wants to grow with the company — starting part-time and moving into a full-time leadership role.

The Role

This is a hands-on lead position. You'll run installs, make decisions in the field, and ensure every system is installed cleanly and professionally. As hours increase, this role is expected to become full-time and may grow into senior or project leadership.

Expected Hours (to start)

• 15–40 hours per week initially
• Weekdays, daytime hours
• Hours expected to increase as projects ramp up

(We'll communicate schedules clearly — no guessing week to week.)

Responsibilities

• Lead AV, lighting, and automation installations
• Read scopes, plans, and system designs and execute accurately
• Install and configure:
• TVs, speakers, racks, and projectors
• Low-voltage wiring (Cat6, speaker wire, control wire)
• Lighting controls and automation systems
• Guide and oversee junior technicians when on site
• Communicate professionally with clients and partners
• Troubleshoot issues independently
• Maintain clean, organized job sites
• Ensure all work meets Lux Controls quality standards

Requirements

• 3+ years experience in AV / low-voltage / automation
• Comfortable leading jobs independently
• Strong troubleshooting skills
• Professional appearance and communication
• Reliable transportation and valid driver's license
• Comfortable working in high-end residential environments

Nice to Have

• Experience with Control4, Lutron, Savant, Crestron or similar
• Rack building and labeling
• Networking basics (switches, routers, IP troubleshooting)

Pay

• $30–$45/hour, depending on experience
• Opportunity for increased hours and leadership growth

Pay: $ $45.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15.0 – 40.0 per week
