We are seeking a meticulous and organized Shipping Clerk to join our dynamic logistics team in Seattle, Washington. This role is critical to our daily operations, ensuring that all outgoing shipments are accurate, well-documented, and dispatched on time. You will be responsible for preparing shipping labels, coordinating with carriers, maintaining inventory records related to shipments, and verifying the contents of outgoing packages against orders. Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills are essential for success in this position. Your primary focus will be on efficient processing and accurate documentation to support our supply chain operations.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately prepare and verify shipping documents, including bills of lading and packing slips.
- Coordinate with freight carriers (e.g., FedEx, UPS, LTL carriers) to schedule pickups and track shipments.
- Inspect outgoing merchandise for damage and ensure proper packaging to prevent loss or damage during transit.
- Maintain organized records of all outgoing shipments and associated documentation.
- Communicate effectively with internal departments (e.g., sales, inventory control) and external partners regarding shipping status.
- Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks and hand trucks as needed.
- Adhere strictly to all company policies and safety regulations, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assist with inventory counts and cycle counts as required.
- Contribute to a positive and productive warehouse environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or logistics preferred.
- Proficient in using shipping software and basic computer applications.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including frequent Lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Strong commitment to Safety and following all guidelines.
