We are looking for an organized and efficient Receiving Clerk to join our busy warehouse in Detroit, Michigan. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for managing all incoming goods, ensuring accuracy and quality from the moment shipments arrive. Your duties will include unloading trucks, verifying contents against purchase orders, inspecting for damage, and meticulously documenting all received items into our inventory system. This role is critical for maintaining the integrity of our supply chain and supporting our overall logistics operations. A strong commitment to safety is essential, and you will be expected to adhere to all warehouse safety protocols, including the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). The position requires the ability to perform tasks involving physical exertion, such as frequent lifting of items up to 40 lbs, and standing for prolonged periods. Key Responsibilities:
- Unload incoming freight from various transport vehicles.
- Accurately check received goods against packing slips and purchase orders.
- Inspect all deliveries for any signs of damage or discrepancies.
- Enter received product information into the inventory management system promptly and accurately.
- Tag and label incoming inventory as required.
- Move received goods to designated staging or storage areas.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving dock area.
- Report any inventory discrepancies or damages to management immediately.
- Follow all company safety guidelines and use required PPE.
- Assist with other warehouse tasks as needed to support logistics flow.
- Participate in inventory audits and cycle counts.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in receiving, warehouse, or logistics roles is preferred.
- Basic computer literacy for data entry.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 40 lbs regularly.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety practices and proper PPE usage.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
