We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Inventory Control Specialist to join our warehouse in Denver, Colorado. In this critical role, you will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our inventory, ensuring that our logistics operations run smoothly and efficiently. Your primary duties will include conducting regular cycle counts, investigating inventory discrepancies, implementing corrective actions, and managing stock rotation. This position requires a strong understanding of inventory management principles and best practices within a logistics environment. You will work closely with receiving, shipping, and warehouse associates to resolve inventory issues and prevent future occurrences. A keen eye for detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and proficiency with inventory management software are essential. You will also be responsible for ensuring that all inventory is stored correctly and safely, adhering to all warehouse safety regulations and using appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). While the role primarily focuses on data and analysis, there may be occasional requirements for lifting and moving inventory items. Key Responsibilities:
- Perform regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
- Investigate and reconcile discrepancies between system records and physical counts.
- Implement and monitor inventory control procedures to minimize shrinkage and errors.
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Manage stock rotation (e.g., FIFO, LIFO) to ensure product freshness and minimize obsolescence.
- Coordinate with receiving and shipping departments to ensure accurate data entry.
- Maintain accurate inventory records in the WMS (Warehouse Management System).
- Develop and recommend improvements to inventory control processes.
- Ensure proper storage and organization of inventory within the warehouse.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines, including the proper use of PPE.
- Assist with training of new staff on inventory procedures.
- Support logistics operations by providing accurate inventory information.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Proven experience in inventory control or a related logistics role.
- Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to perform tasks involving lifting and moving inventory, as needed.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and PPE usage.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
