We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Material Handler to join our dynamic warehouse team in Boston, Massachusetts. The Material Handler plays a crucial role in the smooth operation of our logistics and fulfillment center, ensuring that all materials are moved, organized, and prepared for distribution efficiently and safely. This position requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming materials and shipments.
- Accurately sort, label, and store materials in designated warehouse locations.
- Operate material handling equipment, such as pallet jacks and hand trucks, to transport goods.
- Assist with inventory counts and stocktaking as needed.
- Prepare materials for shipment by accurately picking, packing, and staging orders.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety regulations.
- Adhere to strict safety protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding inventory levels and potential issues.
- Perform other warehouse duties as assigned to support the logistics team.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a warehouse or material handling role is preferred, but not required.
- Ability to perform frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment and following all safety guidelines.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Basic reading and math skills.
