For this Senior Design Manager role, you will be involved from the start of the project, based initially in the regional office of this Tier 1 contractor. When the project commences on site, you will move to being 4 days with the site team and 1 day working remotely or the office. The project is a new build student accommodation project of circa £80m value which is associated with another new education building which is well underway.
Responsibilities
Oversee the Design Management for the student accommodation project with the assistance of a Design Manager and a document Controller.
Report to the Project Director and have regular progress meetings with the Regional Design Manager.
Support the current project team with all design tasks; initial tasks include working on CDP and identifying key tasks to be carried out.
Operate in a live site environment and quickly integrate with the team to provide support.
Qualifications and Experience
A UK construction qualification is essential.
At least 10 years in contracting Design Management and a minimum of 5 years in the role of Senior Design Manager.
Experience with Tier 1 contractors, with familiarity of processes and procedures on busy projects; strong organisational skills.
Ability to work with experienced production teams and to manage and challenge decisions while communicating effectively with different people.
This role is ONLY open to individuals who have the above experience and who live within a commutable distance to the project in Surrey.
