Job Summary
Ophthalmology practice seeking full time ophthalmic technician with contact lens experience. A skilled, certified opthalmic technician with some EMR experience is preferred. We are looking for an energetic, professional, friendly staff who will thrive in our fast-paced environment. The ability to work well with others is a must.

Duties

  • Conduct patient intake by collecting medical histories, verifying insurance information for surgeries, and updating electronic medical records (EMR).
  • Perform ophthalmic tests such as visual acuity assessments, intraocular pressure measurements, instilling dilation drops, OCT, visual field, auto refractor, and OPTOS
  • Maintain patient records with precision, ensuring HIPAA compliance and confidentiality of medical information
  • Assist ophthalmologists with contact lens fits

Qualifications

  • Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) certification or equivalent required
  • Proven experience in ophthalmology or optometry clinics with strong clinic experience
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology related to eye health, and medical coding/billing practices
  • Familiarity with EMR systems such as Moderning Medicine (EMA) or similar platforms for documentation
  • Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and data security

Pay: From $3,120.00 per month
