Position Summary

The Front of House Manager is responsible for overseeing all guest-facing operations to ensure exceptional service, efficient staff performance, and a welcoming atmosphere. This role leads FOH staff, manages daily service execution, and acts as the primary liaison between guests, staff, and ownership/upper management.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Experience

  • Deliver outstanding hospitality and ensure a high level of guest satisfaction at all times
  • Resolve guest concerns promptly and professionally
  • Maintain service standards, ambiance, cleanliness, and brand presentation
  • Monitor guest flow, wait times, and table/bar turns

Staff Leadership & Supervision

  • Hire, train, schedule, and supervise FOH staff (servers, bartenders, hosts, runners, bussers)
  • Lead pre-shift meetings and ongoing service coaching
  • Enforce company policies, appearance standards, and service expectations
  • Handle employee performance issues, write-ups, and corrective actions when needed

Operations & Service Execution

  • Oversee daily opening, shift execution, and closing procedures
  • Ensure proper staffing levels based on business volume
  • Coordinate with BOH to ensure smooth service and communication
  • Monitor POS usage, cash handling, and tab policies
  • Ensure compliance with alcohol service laws and company procedures

Scheduling & Labor Management

  • Create and manage FOH schedules within labor targets
  • Adjust staffing in real time based on business needs
  • Approve shift swaps, time-off requests, and attendance tracking

Financial & Administrative Duties

  • Monitor sales performance, comps, voids, and discounts
  • Ensure accurate cashouts, tip reporting, and end-of-day procedures
  • Assist with inventory oversight for bar and FOH supplies
  • Support management with reporting, audits, and operational reviews

Safety & Compliance

  • Enforce health, safety, and sanitation standards
  • Ensure responsible alcohol service and compliance with local regulations

  • Minimum 2–3 years of FOH management experience in a restaurant, bar, or hospitality setting

  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Knowledge of POS systems, scheduling software, and labor controls
  • Excellent problem-solving and guest recovery skills
  • Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays
