Cornerstone Health Community (CHC) is a private practice in the Denver Tech Center. As experts in personalized medicine, we provide leading edge functional medicine and primary care solutions that improve our patient's longevity and healthspans.

CHC is growing We are currently seeking an experienced certified medical assistant to join our team. As a crucial member of our medical team, our Medical Assistants develop meaningful relationships with our patients as they deliver exceptional care and work as partners with our compassionate provider team.

Scheduled hours Tuesday – Friday, 7:30 am. – 5:30 p.m.

Providing exceptional healthcare begins with the health and well-being of the healthcare team. We are closed on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday to provide our team with consecutive days to rest, play and enjoy life in Colorado.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional patient centered care and coordination while serving patient's needs with compassion, excellence, kindness, and warmth
  • Communicate effectively with patients and team members while maintaining confidentiality
  • Medical assisting functions: rooming patients, taking and recording patient history and personal information. Measuring and recording vital signs such as blood pressure.
  • Administration of injections, performing EKG tests, EEG tests, spirometry testing, allergy testing, balance plate testing, and assisting providers with other medical procedures as directed by providers and as permitted by Colorado law
  • Performing phlebotomy, preparing blood samples for laboratory tests, IV certification preferred
  • Cleaning exam rooms and sterilizing medical instruments
  • Ordering medical supplies and maintaining inventory
  • Prepare referral letters as dictated by physician or physician assistant- mail/fax/scan referrals to all physicians involved in patient's care
  • Return patient calls, resolve patient issues as appropriate, review medications and refill requests
  • Ensure quality and consistency in medical documentation within our EMR; compliance with all legal and ethical requirements for preparing medical documents and patient confidentiality; reporting of data as required
  • Assist in the accurate and thorough transcription of the medical visits as needed to include patient history, exams and procedures performed by physician; properly capture symptoms, diagnosis, follow up care and prescriptions; patient orders and test results for proper insurance billing and coding
  • Collaborate with CHC team members in bringing your fresh ideas, unique strengths, creative problem solving, and good nature to the practice
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

  • Passion for health and wellness
  • Certification from an accredited Medical Assistant program
  • Current CPR certification
  • Phlebotomy certified required; IV certification strongly preferred
  • At least two years of professional experience as a Medical Assistant
  • Experience using eCW or similar EMR system required, very proficient with technology
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, medical equipment, HIPPA compliance and OSHA rules and regulations
  • Compassionate and sensitive to patient needs and concerns
  • Professionalism and ability to be discrete with confidential and sensitive issues
  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
  • Must value humor, teamwork, professional development and teachabilty
  • Demonstrated track record of arriving at work on a timely and consistent basis
  • Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time
  • Must have at least two (2) professional references
