Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Certified Pharmacy Technician preferably with Compounding Experience to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting pharmacists in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the safe and effective administration of medications. Your expertise in pharmacy operations, along with your commitment to patient service, will be essential in supporting our healthcare team and enhancing patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and dispense medications accurately, following established protocols and guidelines.
- Assist in the administration of IV infusions and other medication delivery methods.
- Utilize aseptic techniques to ensure the safety and sterility of compounded medications.
- Provide exceptional patient service by addressing inquiries and educating patients about their medications.
- Maintain accurate records of medication administration and inventory management.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize patient care plans and medication therapies.
- Stay informed about medical terminology and pharmacy best practices to enhance service delivery.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development activities to maintain certification.
Qualifications
- Certification PTCB as a Pharmacy Technician is required.
- Experience in a hospital or clinical setting is preferred, with a focus on patient care.
- Knowledge of medication administration techniques, including inhalation therapies and IV infusion processes.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology related to pharmaceuticals.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to provide clear instructions to patients and collaborate effectively with healthcare teams.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills are essential for managing multiple tasks efficiently.
