Full-Time Store Lead – SF Boutique

We're looking for someone who is proactive, organized, and a people-centered leader who takes pride in creating welcoming, well-run retail spaces. They are comfortable owning day-to-day operations, supporting and developing teams, and balancing big-picture thinking with hands-on execution. This person thrives in a fast-paced, startup-style environment, communicates clearly, adapts easily to change, and brings a thoughtful, solutions-oriented approach to both customer experience and store operations.
What you'll be doing:
Customer Experience & Service
-Oversee all aspects of in-person customer service at our SF location
-Ensure every customer is greeted warmly and supported thoughtfully
-Provide accurate product information and resolve customer questions or concerns
-Handle in-store returns and exchanges with flexibility and care
-Uphold the philosophy that our stores are places where the word "no" rarely exists
-Support seamless customer experiences by sourcing merchandise when items are out of stock
-Provide backup phone and email customer support as needed
Merchandising & Store Maintenance
-Monitor stock levels and ensure timely restocking of the sales floor
-Maintain merchandising standards, including folding, hanging, steaming, and visual presentation
-Highlight featured merchandise throughout the store
-Maintain clean, organized sales floors and back-stock areas
-Ensure stores meet brand standards for appearance, organization, and functionality
Team Leadership & Development
-Recruit, hire, train, and support sales associates
-Serve as a positive, consistent role model and brand advocate
-Be the primary point of contact for sales associate questions and needs
-Create a supportive, thoughtful, and accountable work environment
-Manage scheduling, staffing coverage, and team communication
-Set individual and team goals and support associates in meeting performance expectations
Operations & Inventory
-Coordinate staff and align team members on daily priorities
-Open and close stores and secure all store assets
-Operate POS systems accurately and maintain strong cash-handling practices
-Manage petty cash and store security procedures
-Process damaged or defective goods accurately and in a timely manner
-Manage inventory control, transfers, and stock organization
-Ensure efficient flow of inventory to the sales floor
Community, Events & Marketing
-Create stores that function as community hubs and reflect Zuri's mission and values
-Execute in-store events that increase community engagement
-Aim to host approximately six events per year
Who you are
-Able to stand and walk for extended periods of time in a retail environment
-Comfortable reaching overhead, bending, squatting, kneeling, and carrying merchandise
-Able to walk up and down staircases while carrying boxes or products
-Comfortable performing basic store maintenance tasks such as sweeping, vacuuming, and cleaning
-Able to safely lift and move boxes weighing up to 40 lbs
-Highly organized, dependable, and detail-oriented
-A clear and timely communicator, both verbally and in writing
-Self-motivated and comfortable working independently while supporting a team
-Thrives in a fast-paced, startup-style environment where priorities evolve
-Strong organizational and time-management skills
-A natural problem-solver with a people-first mindset
-Ability to work weekends and holidays
-Bonus if you have experience with Slack, Shipstation, and/or Shopify, but not required
-3-5+ years previous retail and/or customer service management experience is required
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
