At JLL, we partner with the world's most prestigious organizations and we are looking for an exceptional leader to join us as the Director of IFM Technical Services. In this high-impact on-site role, you will lead a comprehensive technical services organization responsible for the reliability, maintenance, and innovation of critical building systems across a premier Technology client's Bay Area portfolio. As a dynamic leader with an ownership mentality, you will oversee specialized mobile engineering teams, critical infrastructure for Base Building Maintenance (BBM), and digital building initiatives.
You don't simply implement best practices—you redefine them, driving operational rigor and elevating performance standards for your team, peers, and vendor partners. By merging meticulous attention to detail with anticipatory customer service, you will ensure these critical environments are not merely functional, but exemplary in safety, compliance, and comfort, establishing yourself as an indispensable cornerstone of our client's success.
*Key Responsibilities -
Strategic Leadership *
:
- Drive the strategy for Digital Buildings and Innovation Programs, leveraging data to enhance building performance and user experience.
- Develop long-term asset lifecycle strategies for critical infrastructure, including UPS, generators, and HVAC systems
*Technical Operations *
:
- BBM Specialty Services: Oversee Base Building Maintenance operation of business-critical systems, including the Generator Program, UPS Program, Electrical Program, Elevator Program, etc.
- HVAC & Specialized Trades: Direct the Unionized technical engineering workforce covering HVAC, Plumbing, Appliance Repair, Water Treatment, and Fire Life Safety (FLS) systems.
- Engineering: Manage the deployment and efficiency of mobile engineers and specialized technicians across the portfolio, including support for vacant, non-occupied sites.
*Program Management: *
- Ensure compliance and operational uptime for high-risk critical environments and specialized trades, including management of Key Performance Indicators (KPI).
- Oversee Innovation Program Management to pilot and scale new technical solutions.
*Team Leadership: *
- Manage 4+ direct reports and build qualified regional teams
- Collaborate with operations 100+ matrix team members to deliver technical services
- Trusted advisor for internal and client teams regionally; maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders and clients.
*Requirements -
Education & Experience *
:
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's or P.E. preferred
- 10+ years progressive experience in facilities maintenance and/or reliability engineering
- 5+ years CMMS management experience (building, maintaining, or managing systems)
- Experience with integrated facilities maintenance and client service delivery
*Technical Skills: *
- Knowledge of HVAC, CUP, chillers, cooling towers, and auxiliary equipment
- Planning, scheduling, and work execution experience preferred
- Strong analytical and data interpretation capabilities
*Work Arrangement: *
- Onsite position with 5 days/week client office presence required
- Travel: 25% within Bay area
- Preferred locations: San Francisco / Mountain View
