Duties

  • Properly clean, disinfect, and sterilize surgical instruments and medical equipment following established protocols.
  • Manage inventory of sterile supplies, ensuring accurate tracking and timely replenishment of stock.
  • Prepare instrument trays and packages for surgical procedures, verifying completeness and sterility.
  • Maintain detailed records of sterilization cycles, equipment maintenance, and inventory levels.
  • Assist with the inspection of instruments for damage or wear, reporting issues promptly.
  • Adhere to strict aseptic techniques to prevent contamination during processing activities.
  • Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure all necessary sterile supplies are available for upcoming procedures.
  • Follow all safety guidelines related to handling biohazardous materials and infectious waste.

Requirements

  • Prior experience or training in sterile processing or a related healthcare field is preferred.
  • Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to surgical procedures.
  • Strong understanding of aseptic techniques and infection control standards.
  • Ability to manage inventory efficiently using appropriate systems or software.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to ensure accuracy in sterilization processes.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Certification in sterile processing or related certification is a plus but not mandatory.
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate weights, and perform repetitive tasks in a clinical setting. This role is essential in maintaining a safe environment for patients and staff by ensuring all surgical instruments are properly sterilized and ready for use. Job Type: Contract

Pay: $ $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
