Duties

  • Assist with patient intake by collecting medical histories, verifying insurance information, and preparing patients for examinations
  • Measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates with precision
  • Support physicians during procedures by preparing equipment, assisting with medication administration, and maintaining sterile environments
  • Operate Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems to document patient encounters accurately and efficiently
  • Perform basic diagnostic procedures including X-ray imaging and other outpatient testing as required
  • Manage medical supplies inventory, restock exam rooms, and ensure compliance with safety protocols in various clinical settings
  • Provide exceptional patient service by answering questions, offering instructions, and ensuring comfort throughout visits

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Medical Assistant in settings such as dermatology, urgent care, hospital medicine, or outpatient clinics
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, ICD coding (International Classification of Diseases), and medication administration procedures
  • Hands-on experience with EHR systems and medical-surgical practices; familiarity with hospital environments including Level I Trauma Centers or Level II Trauma Centers is highly desirable
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or equivalent is required to ensure readiness for emergency situations
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to provide compassionate patient care across diverse populations including geriatrics and pediatric intensive care units (PICU)
  • Ability to perform clinical tasks such as vital signs collection, specimen collection, X-ray operation, and assisting in emergency medicine procedures
  • Prior hospital experience or clinic experience in internal medicine or specialized fields like dermatology or Geriatrics is preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in inpatient or outpatient settings while maintaining high standards of safety and professionalism
