Description

Summary: The Human Resources Generalist will assist with all HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, record keeping, employee relations, and compliance. This role supports the leadership team in fostering a positive and constructive work culture and ensures HR policies are implemented effectively. This role is responsible for maintaining confidentiality throughout a wide range of situations. This position will begin as part-time, but will have opportunities that could develop into a full-time roll.

Principle Duties & Responsibilities:

Recruitment & Onboarding:

  • Assist with job postings, interviews, background checks, and job offers.
  • Support the onboarding process for new hires.
  • Maintain up-to-date, compliant job descriptions.

Employee Relations:

  • Serve as a point of contact for employee questions and concerns.
  • Promote open communication and a supportive work environment.
  • Head employee engagement efforts.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, performance corrections, pulse surveys, and other employee communication.
  • Assist with benefit eligibility, 401k processing, and open enrollment.

HRIS & Payroll Support:

  • Maintain and update employee records in the HRIS system.
  • Assist with HRIS troubleshooting and system communications.
  • Assist with payroll process on a bi-weekly schedule in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Address and promptly resolve any payroll discrepancies or employee compensation concerns.

Training & Development:

  • Help coordinate professional development and continued education opportunities.
  • Support managers in coaching and developing their teams.

Compliance & Policy Support:

  • Stay informed on labor laws and assist in ensuring compliance.
  • Support HR policy updates and implementation.
  • Assist with the annual HR budget process.
  • May be asked to perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HR software.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Required to obtain CPR/AED certification within 30 days of hire.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, communications, or a related field.
  • At least one year of HR experience is preferred.
  • HR certification is a plus.

Physical & Work Environment Requirements:

  • Ability to operate standard office equipment.
  • Work takes place in office, exercise, and recreational settings, with occasional exposure to swimming pool areas and emergency situations.

Salary Description
$20-$23 per hour
