Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Store Manager to oversee daily retail operations, ensure excellent customer service, and lead a team toward achieving sales and operational goals. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills, with a proven track record in retail management. This role requires a strategic thinker capable of managing inventory, supervising staff, and maintaining a positive shopping environment to drive business growth.
Duties
- Lead and supervise store staff, including hiring, training, and evaluating employee performance
- Develop and implement sales strategies to meet or exceed sales targets
- Manage inventory control, stock replenishment, and merchandising to optimize product presentation
- Oversee POS systems, cash handling, and cashiering operations ensuring accuracy and security
- Conduct employee orientation, training & development programs to enhance team skills
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve complaints promptly to ensure high customer satisfaction
- Manage purchasing activities and vendor relationships for inventory procurement
- Execute marketing initiatives to promote store offerings and increase foot traffic
- Monitor store financials including budgeting, payroll processing, and bookkeeping tasks
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and operational procedures
- Utilize management tools for scheduling shifts, tracking sales data, and reporting performance metrics
Requirements
- Proven management experience in retail or grocery store environments with supervising responsibilities
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams
- Excellent communication skills; bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus
- Proficiency in POS systems, retail math, pricing strategies, and inventory management software
- Experience in employee recruitment, interviewing, payroll processing, and bookkeeping
- Demonstrated ability in sales management, merchandising, stock management, and marketing strategies
- Strong organizational skills with effective time management capabilities
- Knowledge of retail sales techniques including cashiering, customer service excellence, and phone etiquette
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and maintain organizational records
- Experience with budgeting, purchasing decisions, inventory control, and store operations management
- Previous assistant manager or managerial experience preferred; supervisory experience essential
