JOB DESCRIPTION: Field Technician (Electrician)

The Field Technician (Electrician) is responsible for the installation, service, and maintenance of various commercial and residential electrical systems, including solar panel installations. This role requires demonstrated proficiency and understanding of:

• Residential home wiring techniques and theory
• NEC code standards
• Electrical and solar energy installations and theory

-----JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical installations, solar equipment systems, battery storage systems, EV chargers, generators, and more.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical/electrical faults in solar equipment systems, battery storage systems, EV chargers, and generators.
• Clean, adjust, and repair electrical systems.
• Lay-out, assemble, and install solar modules, panels, or support structures as specified.
• Perform emergency repairs promptly and efficiently.
• Demonstrate proficiency and knowledge of residential home wiring techniques, solar energy design, installations, and the NEC.
• Use appropriate hand and power tools to perform a variety of functions.
• Follow established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean work environment.
• Approach every opportunity with a learning mindset.
• Must be comfortable working on roofs (fall protection provided).

-----REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

• Working knowledge of residential home wiring techniques, theory, and NEC code.
• Working knowledge of solar energy wiring techniques, theory, and NEC code.
• Working knowledge of reading blueprint wiring diagrams and performing sizing calculations.
• Ability to follow and communicate instructions and directions both verbally and written.
• Capable of working independently or in a group setting.
• Skills in Electrical Floor plan designing (Bill of materials creation).

-----EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma required.
• Minimum of 12 months of construction experience.
• Valid driver's license with reliable transportation.
• Basic understanding of Solar Energy System Design theory.
• OSHA 10 card.

-----PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Required to stand, walk, sit, and drive company vehicles.
• Regularly required to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Comfortable working on roofs, ladders, and from heights in a man lift.
• Comfortable working around heavy equipment.
• Have reliable transportation to and from work in Cheektowaga, NY.
• Must own basic electrician hand tools (tool belt, toolbox, battery power drill, battery power impact drill).

-----WORK LOCATION

• Western, Central, and Southern, New York State.
• Shop location is 73 Euclid Ave. Buffalo, NY 14211.
• Expected to work out of town at times for projects over 1 hour away.
• Per-Diem will be received for food and beverage.
• Paid Hotel room will be provided.

-----TRAINING

• Paid on the job training is provided, including:
• Heat Spring courses.
• Virtual training courses provided by product manufacturers.
• Training sessions with the owner.

Pay: Up to $38.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
