The Role
We're seeking a driven and empathetic Business Development Representative (BDR)
to help bring our trauma-informed, culturally-inclusive VR product to schools, school districts, and health clinics. You'll be one of the first sales hires and play a critical role in shaping our go-to-market efforts.
You'll start part-time,
commission-only
, and transition into a
full-time salaried role

Responsibilities
- Prospect, qualify, and generate leads across schools, districts, and clinics
- Conduct outbound calls, emails, and follow-ups with district officials, school administrators, counselors, and clinicians
- Schedule and lead discovery calls and product demos
- Maintain organized notes and pipeline tracking in CRM
- Collaborate with the founder and advisors to shape sales materials and pitch strategies
- Represent aloeVR at conferences and industry events (if local or able to travel)
You're a Strong Fit If You:
- Have 1–3 years of sales experience (preferably B2B, EdTech, or mental health products)
- Are deeply passionate about education, mental health, and social impact
- Have experience working with or selling to schools, school districts, or health clinics
- Are a strong communicator and relationship-builder
- Work independently, manage your own leads, and thrive in ambiguity
- Bonus: Already established relationships with schools/school districts
Compensation
Part-Time (pre-raise):
- Commission-only
- 20% commission on all deals closed
- Usually in ed-tech there's a 3-6 month sales cycle
- Our average contract size is around $11,000, but that is poised to increase
- Weekly target: 8-10 meetings booked; 3 demos per week
Full-Time (post-raise):
- Base Salary
: $60,000–$75,000/year (depending on experience and performance) - Commission
: 10% on new deals closed - Equity
: Potential stock options for long-term contributors - Benefits
