Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Litigation Paralegal to join our dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in various areas of law, including personal injury, employment, and business litigation. This role requires proficiency in document management systems and the ability to provide executive administrative support. The Litigation Paralegal will assist attorneys in preparing for trials, drafting motions, scheduling hearings, and other legal proceedings while ensuring compliance with legal standards.
Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys in the preparation of legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
- Conduct legal research using tools such as Lexis-Nexis to support case preparation.
- Manage case files and maintain organized documentation through CLIO or similar document management systems.
- Prepare trial binders and exhibits for court proceedings.
- Coordinate with clients, witnesses, and experts to gather necessary information and documentation.
- Draft correspondence, motions, and communicate effectively with clients regarding case updates.
- Support litigation efforts by organizing evidence and maintaining case calendars.
- Ensure compliance with court rules and deadlines throughout the litigation process.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or paralegal certificate from an accredited institution preferred.
- Proven experience as a paralegal in litigation settings
- Proficient in document management systems; experience with CLIO is a plus.
- Strong research skills utilizing Westlaw or similar platforms.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Familiarity with litigation processes and procedures is essential.
