Richelieu Foods, Inc. is a leading national private label and contract packing food manufacturer focused on frozen pizza. We have two manufacturing facilities located in IL and WI. We provide products to many national retailers, wholesalers, distributors, club and mass stores, as well as industrial accounts including other food manufacturers.
Job Summary
Richelieu Foods, Inc., a leading supplier of high-quality private brand food products to the retail and food service industries, is seeking a Project Engineer, who will assume accountability for the coordination, planning and execution of both large and small-scale facility / capital projects and the successful delivery of key commercialization initiatives for the company.
This role will collaborate with Operations, Quality, Safety and Engineering to define scope, design, estimates and oversight for both small- and large-scale capital projects.
This role will be embedded on the factory floor, providing expertise on engineered solutions to improve safety practices, foreign material elimination, and improvements in waste control/reuse.
This position will partner with the Manufacturing Engineer, the Controls Engineer, and the CI Manager for factory floor improvement identification and implementation.
Essential Functions
- Drive a safety culture that prioritizes safe work practices and procedures, ensure all activities align with regulatory requirements that may apply, e.g., OSHA, EPA, USDA, state and local building and fire code regulations.
- Works on day-to-day level duties in assigned facility.
- Focusing on basic budget projects assigned by leadership
- Ownership of facility and capital projects from development through execution.
- Develop project scopes and detailed project plans.
- Manages schedules, costs and other key deliverables per the approved project plan.
- Identifies, assesses and communicates project risks.
- Measures project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques.
- Resolves and/or escalates issues to management in a timely fashion.
- Coordinates with internal resources and third parties/vendors for the execution of projects.
- Coordinates project-initiated training.
- Effectively facilitates project team meetings.
- Ensures that forms and records to document project activities are maintained in a project management software database.
- Establish a communication schedule to update stakeholders, including appropriate staff in the organization on the progress of each project.
- Ensure that all projects are delivered safely on time, within project scope and budget
- All other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering and a minimum 5 years of related work experience.
- Experience with AutoCAD.
- Strong project management skills.
- Ability to travel to all Richelieu Foods, Inc. sites.

- Experience in food manufacturing or consumer goods industry.
- Experience working in a combustible dust environment.

Work Environment
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and power industrial trucks. The employee is frequently exposed to hot, wet and/or humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
Universal Pay Verbiage
The following information is provided in accordance with certain state and local laws. Compensation depends on experience, geographic location, and other factors permitted by law. The expected compensation for this role is between $115,000 - $135,000. This role is also eligible for an annual incentive plan bonus. Benefits for this role include medical, dental, and vision insurance, pre-tax spending accounts, retirement benefits, paid time off, 401K with company match, short-term and long-term disability, and life insurance.
