Senior Estimator

Position Overview

The Senior Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for construction projects from conceptual design through final bid. This role plays a key part in preconstruction planning, value engineering, subcontractor coordination, and risk assessment to support successful project execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed conceptual, schematic, and hard-bid estimates for construction projects
• Review drawings, specifications, and other contract documents to determine scope and pricing
• Lead subcontractor outreach, bid solicitation, analysis, and leveling
• Develop project budgets, cost models, and pricing strategies
• Identify risks, contingencies, and value-engineering opportunities
• Collaborate with Preconstruction, Project Management, and Operations teams
• Participate in client meetings, bid reviews, and preconstruction presentations
• Maintain historical cost data and benchmarking for future projects
• Assist in negotiating subcontractor scopes and pricing as needed

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in construction estimating (GC preferred)
• Strong experience with commercial, multifamily, and/or tenant improvement projects
• Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, PlanSwift, Sage, or similar)
• Solid understanding of construction means, methods, and materials
• Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneously
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
• Equivalent industry experience will be considered
